Three of us. All ex VIP cabin crew.

We know the galley, the diet card and the 5 a.m. re-plate — because we lived them. So we built the caterer we always wished we could call.

The local tableCooked so it travels

Inflight catering with the flavours of Vienna (VIE)

Vienna eats well on a plane when the dish suits the galley. The classic Wiener Schnitzel is breaded veal or pork fried in clarified butter; it travels hot in a vented box and goes through the oven for a few minutes, with the lemon wedge and the potato salad packed apart. A private jet menu for Vienna also leans on Tafelspitz, the boiled beef with apple-horseradish and chive sauce, which holds its broth better than almost any other local dish.

On the cold side, our inflight menu draws on Austrian pantry basics: Liptauer spread, smoked trout from the Alpine lakes, Styrian pumpkin seed oil on a cold salad, and cheeses such as Bergkäse. Private jet food from the Viennese pastry tradition is easy to serve: Sachertorte, Apfelstrudel and Kaiserschmarrn components that finish in the galley. These local specialities in Vienna are portioned per seat, sauces in their own pots.

The Naschmarkt supplies much of what makes a Vienna menu seasonal: white asparagus in spring, Marillen apricots from the Wachau in summer, game in autumn, chestnuts in winter. We tell you what is in season for your departure date and adjust the board accordingly.

The three founders, former VIP cabin crew, on a business jet airstair — private jet catering at Vienna International Airport (LOWW)

Landing at Schwechat means a general aviation terminal on the east side of the field, a de-icing queue in winter and a slot that rarely moves twice. Private jet catering for LOWW is cooked and packed for that window. Our inflight catering and in-flight catering for VIE come from former VIP flight attendants, who also write the aviation catering side of the brief: business aviation catering for the front cabin, executive jet catering for a short corporate hop, diplomatic flight catering for delegations, cabin crew meals boxed for the rotation.

Business aviationOur core

VIP flight and private jet catering at Vienna International Airport (LOWW)

Business jet catering at Vienna usually starts with a short brief: a Gulfstream or Challenger on a corporate rotation, a Saturday charter flight catering order for a ski trip to Salzburg or Innsbruck, or a VIP flight catering request for a concert weekend in Vienna. Corporate jet catering here leans on what the galley can do in the time you have: a cold board that waits in the drawer, a hot course that needs one oven pass. Our private jet chef writes a bespoke menu around the aircraft type, the headcount and the departure slot, and luxury inflight catering for Vienna often means the delicate things done plainly: a clear Tafelspitz broth in a flask, smoked trout with horseradish, a Sachertorte cut and portioned per seat. Tell us the tail and the slot and we build from there.

State & royalDiscretion, protocol

Head of state and government inflight catering at Vienna International Airport (VIE)

Government flight catering at Vienna is shaped by the city's role as a seat of international organisations and diplomatic meetings. Head of state flight catering for LOWW goes through the protocol office before anything is cooked: the menu is cleared, the allergens are confirmed, a named team packs and seals. VIP aviation catering here is discreet by habit, with traceable ingredients and no names on the labels, only seat numbers. State visit aircraft catering often means a long leg home, so the order is split into a first service and a second, each sealed separately. We work quietly with your handling agent and the delegation's office.

Halal, kosher and kids meals: inflight catering at Vienna International Airport (VIE)

Special meals at Vienna start with the local kitchen: wheat flour in the Schnitzel coating, butter and cream in the sauces, nuts in the Torte and strudel doughs, eggs in nearly every dessert. For a gluten free or allergen free tray we cook separately, on a separate board, and seal it with a card showing seat, restriction and reheating time. Kosher and halal meals are ordered ahead through certified suppliers and arrive sealed; vegan trays swap the clarified butter for oil and the cream for plant alternatives. Kids meals are a plain schnitzel strip or pasta, cut small, with fruit.

Crew & pilot mealsOn request

Flight crew meals on request at Vienna International Airport

Crew meals at Vienna are ordered with the flight and invoiced like the rest of the order; they are on request, never assumed. On a tight turn at LOWW the pilot wants something she can eat one-handed: a Schnitzel roll, a Käsespätzle box, smoked trout on rye. Flight crew meals carry a CREW label and travel apart from the passenger trays. We write different meals for pilots when the operator's policy asks for it, so captain and first officer never share a dish, and pilot meals and cockpit meals are kept plain and sealed. Cabin crew meals come as crew meal boxes that survive a jumpseat. Crew catering for Vienna is quick to find in the drawer and quiet to eat.

DeliveryEvery FBO

FBO delivery and FBO catering at Vienna International Airport (VIE)

FBO catering at Vienna means the delivery arrives at the general aviation terminal on the field, passes through the security point and reaches the aircraft on your slot. Catering delivery to the FBO is coordinated with your handling agent: someone has to open the gate for the vehicle and confirm the aircraft's stand. Ground handling catering at LOWW works best when we have the tail, the slot and the stand early; handling agent catering orders sometimes get held at the gate if names or plates are missing. We hand over at the aircraft, on your slot, and tell you where the trays are.

High loaderLarge cabins, bizliners

High loader delivery for jet catering at Vienna International Airport (VIE)

Galley catering for a Vienna narrowbody or widebody starts with the aircraft type. A Bombardier Global takes a hand-carried delivery through the door; a large VIP airliner needs a high loader at the service door and a longer lead time for the apron. Airside catering delivery at LOWW goes through the airport's security and vehicle procedures, so plates and driver names are needed ahead. Aircraft provisioning for a long return leg can mean extra drawers, extra chillers and a second service labelled for the flight home.

About the airportLOWW / VIE

General aviation and airport catering at Vienna International Airport (VIE)

Vienna International Airport sits at Schwechat, east of the city, and is the main hub for business aviation in Austria. The general aviation terminal handles corporate jets, charter flights and the occasional diplomatic arrival. Airport catering at LOWW is shaped by the winter de-icing queue, the slot system and the Schengen status of the field, which means passengers and crew may be cleared on arrival without an inspection of the galley, though customs can still ask.

Business aviation

Vienna is a business aviation hub for conferences, ski charters and diplomatic meetings. The Opera Ball in February and the Vienna Marathon in April bring bursts of VIP traffic, and the summer months fill with Wachau-bound owner flights. FBO services and ground handling services at LOWW are well organised but slot-driven; a slot that slips can push food past its window, so we plan with buffer. Our aviation catering for inflight catering and in-flight catering runs the same year-round, with the menu shifting with the season.

Customs & food import

Austria is in the EU and Schengen, so intra-Schengen arrivals are generally uncomplicated, but arrivals from outside the EU can face customs checks on meat, dairy and other animal products, which are restricted from import. Food prepared in Austria and loaded for an outbound flight is fine. Ask us about your routing before you order and we will tell you what to pack and what to leave out.

★★★★★CHARTER
“What impressed me at LOWW was how a request for a breakfast basket with individual preserves was handled despite a late menu amendment. With several people involved, The Galley Girls kept the canapés and delivery arrangements together in a concise order update. The cabin team could match the sandwiches to the request before moving on to the remaining departure tasks. I want an aviation catering company to understand storage requirements, and this order gave us a useful starting point.”

★★★★★LARGE CABIN
“On this departure from VIE, 3 passengers had chosen mushroom risotto and a green salad, and a short ground stop needed to be reflected in the order. The Galley Girls used a readable packing list for the breakfast portions, which helped when two colleagues checked the order together. When comparing aviation catering companies, I would look closely at written menu details after this experience. I found the crew provisions without searching through every box, a small detail that mattered during the final cabin checks.”

★★★★★LIGHT JET
“Keeping the galley organised at Vienna International Airport meant planning roasted chicken and seasonal vegetables for 6 guests with a changing departure schedule in mind. This experience of flight catering gave us a useful reference for managing storage requirements on another departure. We described our serving sequence to The Galley Girls and asked for the crew provisions to be packed accordingly. Our colleague could take over the canapés without asking where every component had been placed during preparation.”

Before you order at LOWWAsked by crews
How much does private jet catering cost out of Vienna in a ski-season week?+

It moves with the season. A February weekend with Opera Ball traffic means a tight slot and fewer fresh options, and that shows in the total; a July departure with Wachau apricots and lake trout in season is easier to source. A Schnitzel service costs less than a cold platter of smoked trout and cheese for six. Send the headcount and the slot and we quote.

What is the lead time for a long leg with two services leaving Vienna?+

We ask for 10 hours where possible, and last-minute orders are taken too. For a long sector, tell us when each service falls: the meal at hour six needs a different dish from the first, and we plan both trays together and label them by service.

What about customs on a short turnaround at Vienna?+

Austria is in the EU and Schengen, so a quick turn inside Schengen rarely meets a food check. Landing from outside the EU, meat and dairy from abroad can be refused; food prepared and loaded in Vienna is not a problem. If your slot is short, tell us so we time the hand-over.

Can you bring food on board in Vienna for the return leg?+

You can carry your own, but arriving from outside the EU, meat, dairy and other animal products may be seized on landing. A return leg ordered from Vienna is prepared locally and sealed, so it comes home without questions. Tell us when you want it at the aircraft.

Is catering part of a charter into Vienna when the passenger count changes late?+

No. The charter covers the aircraft; catering is ordered and invoiced separately. When the headcount moves at the last minute, we resize the trays and re-label the seats, so send the new number as soon as you have it.
