The Hengchun peninsula in Pingtung County eats from the sea and from the hills behind it. The field at Hengchun is quiet most of the year and busy when the Kenting holiday crowd and typhoon-season diversions change the plan. At RCKW, crew meals are a catalogue item, on request and billed with the trip. Flight crew meals suit a quiet turn, pilot meals stay light, and crew catering is labelled by seat. Cockpit meals go in crew meal boxes, with different meals for pilots when the operator asks for it.
On a small field like RCKW, FBO catering reaches the aircraft once tail and slot are confirmed. Catering delivery to the general aviation terminal is arranged with your handling agent, and ground handling catering covers the walk to the apron. Handling agent catering here means one point of contact for the whole handover at the FBO.
What goes onto the aircraft at Hengchun is set by its type and the size of its galley. Galley catering for a light or midsize jet goes by hand through the main door. The sooner you say halal, kosher or allergen, the better the result at HCN, but we do not turn late requests away. Each special meal is sealed in its own box with the seat number.
For international arrivals, customs and airside access at Hengchun are handled by the agent. We coordinate with them and deliver to the FBO, so nothing waits at a gate.
Taiwan restricts imported meat, fruit, and plant products, and customs checks are strict. Food brought from abroad may be seized, so ordering locally at Hengchun avoids the problem.
