Three of us. All ex VIP cabin crew.

We know the galley, the diet card and the 5 a.m. re-plate — because we lived them. So we built the caterer we always wished we could call.

The local tableCooked so it travels

Local specialities from Red Dog for your inflight catering

Red Dog sits in the Northwest Arctic Borough of Alaska, and the local table here is shaped by that: Arctic char, salmon and caribou are the proteins people in the region actually eat, and wild berries (salmonberries, blueberries, cloudberries) are the fruit. We build a private jet menu around them where they can be sourced, and fall back on clean, cold-hardy ingredients where they cannot. An inflight menu for Alaska has to travel well, so private jet food from this region is cooked and chilled rather than assembled aboard.

Local specialities for Red Dog Airport lean on what the Alaskan northwest gives: smoked salmon, Arctic char, reindeer sausage, berries and sourdough. Private jet platters of smoked fish and berry plates travel cold and need no galley work; gourmet inflight meals of char or caribou finish in the oven. Private jet snacks follow the same logic, dried fish, nuts and berry bars that survive a cold ramp. The Alaska private jet menu changes with the season and with what can reach the field.

The three founders, former VIP cabin crew, on a business jet airstair — private jet catering at Red Dog Airport (PADG)

Red Dog Airport sits on a gravel-and-mine landscape in northwest Alaska, where ordinary supplies are never a given. Private jet catering here is built around what survives a cold ramp and a small galley: sealed trays, sauces apart, nothing that needs a counter. Our team of former VIP flight attendants plans inflight catering and aviation catering for PADG around the aircraft you fly, with in-flight catering that finishes in the oven or stays chilled. Business aviation catering, executive jet catering and diplomatic flight catering all follow the same method, and cabin crew meals are packed on request.

  • Fresh and local produce
  • Labelled by seat, diet and reheat
  • Aviation-ready packaging

Executive jet catering at Red Dog Airport (RDB)

Who flies into PADG? Mine staff, contractors and executive visitors, often in light jets with one oven and one drawer. Business jet catering for Red Dog is written to that galley: corporate jet catering with hot dishes finishing in the oven, VIP flight catering plated cold where there is no oven, and charter flight catering coordinated with the FBO. A private jet chef drafts a bespoke menu for the tail, and luxury inflight catering is simply the same care at a remote strip.

Government flight and VIP aviation catering at Red Dog Airport

Official flights into a remote Alaska field need a plan made early. For government flight catering at PADG we agree allergens, seat plan and handover point before cooking. Head of state flight catering and VIP aviation catering are labelled by seat, never by name, and state visit aircraft catering is delivered to the aircraft through the FBO and your handling agent.

Dietary requirements and aviation catering at Red Dog Airport (PADG)

Dietary requests at a remote Alaskan field like PADG are handled as a procedure, not a promise. Kosher, halal, vegan, gluten free, allergen free and kids meals are planned around what actually reaches the kitchen from Alaska's limited supply: fish and berries are plentiful, specialist ingredients less so. Special meals are packed separately, labelled by seat, and any allergen present in local products such as fish, nuts or shellfish is stated before cooking begins.

Crew meal boxes and crew meals at Red Dog Airport

What does the crew eat at PADG? Whatever you request, on request and invoiced like the other lines. Flight crew meals come in crew meal boxes with the seat number on the lid; pilot meals and cockpit meals can differ so captain and first officer are not eating the same dish. Crew catering is packed apart from the guest trays, and different meals for pilots are available on request.

DeliveryEvery FBO

Airport catering delivered to the FBO at Red Dog Airport (PADG)

At PADG the FBO is the point of contact for every handover. FBO catering is delivered to the general aviation terminal and carried to the aircraft by your handling agent, so ground handling catering stays in the hands of those who hold ramp access. Catering delivery to the FBO is confirmed against the slot, and handling agent catering is coordinated by phone or email.

Galley-door delivery and aviation catering at Red Dog Airport (RDB)

Red Dog Airport sees mostly light aircraft and mine charters on a gravel-adjacent apron, so galley catering here is sized by the aircraft rather than by a loader. For larger types the airside catering delivery follows the handling agent's access to the ramp, and aircraft provisioning is confirmed against door height and galley layout before anything is packed. If a high loader is needed, say so with the tail and we plan the load accordingly.

About the airportPADG / RDB

General aviation and airport catering at Red Dog Airport (RDB)

Also listed as DGG.

PADG is an Alaskan mine strip rather than a conventional terminal airport, and its traffic is mostly charters and company flights. Airport catering follows that reality: general aviation arrivals depend on FBO services and ground handling services, and we plan to the aircraft rather than to a restaurant.

Business aviation

Red Dog is a business aviation hub of a very specific kind: industrial, remote and weather-driven. Inflight catering and in-flight catering for these flights is built to be robust, and aviation catering here means business aviation catering that travels in sealed trays. Executive jet catering and diplomatic flight catering are cleared ahead, and cabin crew meals are packed on request.

Customs & food import

For food, US rules apply: a domestic flight to PADG needs no declaration, while an international arrival must keep to American import limits on meat, dairy and produce. We flag anything that needs declaring when the order is placed.

“Small packing details became important at Red Dog Airport: our 8 passengers wanted prawn salad and small fruit plates, and we had a tight boarding window. The Galley Girls labelled the starters in line with our brief, so the cabin team could identify the relevant portions quickly. The crew provisions were also listed clearly, which made it easier to pass instructions between crew members during preparation. I appreciated the emphasis on portion planning throughout the private jet catering services arrangements.”

★★★★★LARGE CABIN
“For 8 passengers departing from PADG, the agreed menu was avocado toast components and breakfast fruit; our main consideration was several individual meal preferences. The Galley Girls prepared the main courses for assembly in the galley, with the accompanying elements easy to locate. I want a private jet catering company to understand storage requirements, and this order gave us a useful starting point. The canapés stayed together in one group, so another crew member could follow the same plating sequence.”

★★★★★BUSINESS JET
“Passenger preferences led us to mini sandwiches and individual desserts at RDB; 2 portions were needed, with several individual meal preferences factored into preparation. When comparing private jet catering companies, I would look closely at crew briefing after this experience. We discussed the dimensions before confirming; The Galley Girls grouped the salads into individual containers that were easy to handle. The sandwiches were easy to locate, leaving the crew free to focus on the remaining cabin preparation.”

The Red Dog questionsAsked by crews
How much does private jet catering cost for a flight into Red Dog, given Alaska's food-import rules?+

Start with the menu: wild fish, caribou and berries lift a private jet catering quote, while bread, cheese and cold cuts keep it lower. Alaska has no separate customs step for domestic arrivals, but an international leg means US import rules apply to food, and we plan around them. Every order is quoted per menu and invoiced like any other.

What is the lead time for private jet catering at Red Dog when your aircraft has a small galley?+

Galley size comes first. For a mid-size jet with a full oven we can send char and stew; for a smaller cabin we keep to chilled platters. Either way, orders placed late are treated normally, and we confirm what the aircraft can take before anything is cooked.

How do customs work for private jet catering when weather decides departures from Red Dog?+

Red Dog's arctic weather can move a departure window, and food planning has to allow for that. For flights staying inside the US there is no customs food check; for international legs, US import rules govern what can come aboard. If a window opens early or closes, tell us and we adjust the order, favouring items that hold, such as smoked fish and sealed trays.

Can you bring food from home to a return leg out of Red Dog, or should we order it here?+

Plenty of crews order the return leg when they land at PADG rather than carry food in. Personal food is not prohibited, but it takes care to keep it safe in arctic temperatures, and on international legs it must meet customs rules. Our boxes are labelled by seat.

Is catering part of a charter flight out of Red Dog at night or early in the morning?+

No, a charter does not cover food. You order it on its own, and we bill it like any other order. An odd-hour departure from Red Dog just means we coordinate the handover precisely with the FBO.
