Private jet catering at Rishiri Airport (RJER / RIS), Rishiri

Catering to your aircraft in Rishiri.

On Rishiri the apron empties out in the cold months and fills with light jets in summer. We cook for that rhythm: kelp, scallop and Hokkaido dairy, packed for your galley and handed to the FBO.

Three of us. All ex VIP cabin crew.

We know the galley, the diet card and the 5 a.m. re-plate — because we lived them. So we built the caterer we always wished we could call.

The Rishiri table, packed for private jet catering

Rishiri is an island at the northern edge of Hokkaido Prefecture, and its private jet menu is shaped by cold water. Local specialities start with Rishiri kelp, the dashi base of half of Hokkaido cooking, and with sea urchin, which is a short summer season product and is packed chilled, in its own container, never loose in a tray. For a private jet menu out of RJER, we build private jet platters around raw and lightly cured seafood, scallop, salmon and ikura, with soy and wasabi in separate pots. Gourmet inflight meals use Hokkaido ingredients that travel well: potato, corn, dairy, lamb for a hot dish that finishes in the galley oven. Private jet snacks are simple and local: kelp crisps, dried scallop, Hokkaido cheese, butter cookies. An inflight menu for Rishiri works best when the product is seasonal, so tell us the date and we say what is good that week. Private jet food from Hokkaido Prefecture is a conversation about freshness: chilled items stay chilled, hot items are marked for the oven, and sauces travel apart so the plate is assembled only at the aircraft.

The three founders, former VIP cabin crew, on a business jet airstair — private jet catering at Rishiri Airport (RJER)

Rishiri Airport sits at 112 ft on a small island off Hokkaido, under the cone of Mount Rishiri, and the apron is quiet outside the summer season. Private jet catering here leans on what the surrounding sea gives: kelp, sea urchin, scallop, cold-water fish. Our team of former VIP flight attendants builds inflight catering for the galley you actually have, and in-flight catering for the crew who will re-plate it. Aviation catering at RJER is written around the apron, the handling agent and a short turnaround. Business aviation catering, executive jet catering and diplomatic flight catering all start with the same brief: type, galley, headcount. Cabin crew meals are packed separately, by seat number.

Private jet catering for business flights from Rishiri (RJER)

A typical business jet catering order at Rishiri is a small cabin on a short visit, often a few passengers arriving to see the island. Corporate jet catering here is light: a chilled seafood plate, a hot dish for the oven, VIP flight catering that fits a compact galley. Charter flight catering follows the same logic, and luxury inflight catering means local product well handled, never an oversized menu. A private jet chef writes a bespoke menu around the type and the headcount.

An official arrival at RJER is a quiet event, and our government flight catering matches it. Head of state flight catering is agreed with protocol first, traced ingredient by ingredient. VIP aviation catering and state visit aircraft catering are delivered to the aircraft by a named team.

Special meals

Dietary requirements and aviation catering at Rishiri Airport (RJER)

Special meals at Rishiri are written around a seafood island. Allergen free requests need the most care here: shellfish, fish and soy sit in almost every local dish, so we build the plate from scratch rather than adapt one. Kosher and halal meals are arranged with the menu before the date, sealed and handed over unopened. Vegan and gluten free plates use Hokkaido vegetables, rice and kelp; kids meals stay plain, rice, chicken or noodles. Tell us the restriction and the seat, and the label carries only the seat number.

Crew & pilot mealsOn request

Flight crew meals on request at Rishiri Airport

On request, we pack crew meals for the flight deck and the cabin. Flight crew meals for RJER are simple boxes; pilot meals are two different dishes when policy asks; cockpit meals are packed to be eaten between tasks. Crew catering is ordered with the flight and invoiced separately, and crew meal boxes carry a seat or role, never a name. Different meals for pilots are no extra work for us.

Ground handling and FBO catering at Rishiri Airport

FBO catering at Rishiri is a handover at the apron, through your handling agent. Catering delivery to the FBO means the general aviation terminal door or the aircraft steps, depending on the slot. Ground handling catering and handling agent catering are coordinated by us so the galley is loaded without anyone waiting.

Aircraft provisioning and airport catering at Rishiri Airport (RJER)

Rishiri takes light aircraft and small business jets, so galley catering at RJER is usually carried by hand rather than by high loader. Airside catering delivery goes through the handling agent to the foot of the aircraft, and aircraft provisioning is planned around the door height of your type and the galley it holds. If the aircraft needs a loader, say so when you order and we plan the packing in trolley-ready units.

About the airportRJER / RIS

About Rishiri Airport (RJER): aviation catering and general aviation

Rishiri Airport is the gateway to Rishiri Island in the Sea of Japan, a quiet field beneath a volcano, used mainly by regional services and the occasional business jet. General aviation traffic is thin outside summer, which shapes everything on the ground: airport catering here follows the season, and FBO services and ground handling services stay small and personal.

Business aviation

Business aviation hub is too grand a phrase for Rishiri, yet general aviation arrivals do come in summer, mostly light jets on a short island visit. Inflight catering and in-flight catering here depend on the season, aviation catering follows the product, and business aviation catering stays proportionate. Executive jet catering for a brief stop, diplomatic flight catering when an official visit lands, and cabin crew meals and crew meals boxed apart complete the picture.

Customs & food import

Japan controls the import of meat, dairy, fruit and vegetables, and Rishiri follows the national rules even for general aviation flights. In practice we source on Hokkaido rather than bring product in, and leftover food from an international leg goes through your handling agent instead of staying on board.

★★★★★LIGHT JET
“Breakfast was already sorted; at Rishiri Airport, the next request was a cold lunch with cheese and fruit for 5 guests, with two separate meal services to work around. The Galley Girls gave us an update on the starters before the handover, which helped us organise the cabin checks. I appreciated the emphasis on final order confirmation throughout the private aviation catering arrangements. The crew provisions went straight to the right colleague instead of circulating between several people during the turnaround.”

★★★★★LARGE CABIN
“Menu approval at RJER covered grilled salmon with a lemon dressing for 2 guests, leaving us to organise the service around a short ground stop. For our team, the strongest part of their business jet catering was how they handled meal organisation. After a final adjustment to the crew provisions, The Galley Girls gave us one revised order summary to work from. There was no need to reconstruct the starters quantities from several messages during the final departure checks.”

★★★★★CREW MEALS
“With several individual meal preferences to consider at RIS, we needed a practical way to serve a breakfast basket with individual preserves to 9 passengers. For our team, the strongest part of their business aviation catering was how they handled written menu details. Instead of asking us to improvise, The Galley Girls explained how the salads could be arranged during service. We could finish the breakfast portions as each guest was ready, rather than laying everything out at once.”

Asked before every RJER slotAsked by crews
How much does private jet catering cost at Rishiri Airport?+

The cost depends on the menu, the headcount and what Japanese customs allow in. Fresh meat and some dairy are tightly controlled at import, so we source locally on Hokkaido instead of shipping product in, which keeps a seafood plate priced as a seafood plate. A kelp and scallop lunch costs less than sea urchin in season. You get a quote per menu, not per tray.

What is the lead time for private jet catering at Rishiri?+

A menu of local, always-available products, kelp, scallop, butter, is easy to order here. Seasonal items such as sea urchin need a conversation. Last-minute orders are handled and we offer an alternative if the sea has not delivered.

What about customs for inflight catering into Rishiri?+

Japan controls animal and plant products at entry, and the practical effect on a quick Rishiri turn is that we plan quantities close to need. Anything left over from an international leg is dealt with through your handling agent. Tell us the slot and the next sector, and we size the order.

Can you bring food into Rishiri on a private jet?+

You can, but we advise against it for crews on a duty clock. Food brought in from abroad can be held at Japanese customs. Ordering Hokkaido product for the stop avoids the problem entirely.

Is catering part of a charter into Rishiri?+

No, and that is useful: a private jet charter to RJER leaves the menu open, so special meal needs, halal, kosher, vegan, are written into a separate catering order built for the passengers aboard.
