Private jet catering at Gran Canaria Airport (GCLP / LPA), Gran Canaria Island

Catering to your aircraft in Gran Canaria Island.

Gran Canaria sits at 78 ft on the east coast of the island, and the trade winds decide which departures leave comfortable. Tell us the tail and the slot, and the galley gets food that survives a warm apron and a long Atlantic leg.

Three of us. All ex VIP cabin crew.

We know the galley, the diet card and the 5 a.m. re-plate — because we lived them. So we built the caterer we always wished we could call.

Gran Canaria Island on the plate: local specialities for in-flight catering at LPA

Gran Canaria is a volcanic island, and its kitchen shows it: papas arrugadas, small wrinkled potatoes boiled in salted water, travel well and eat warm or cold. The two mojo sauces, red and green, go in their own pots so they never touch the plate before service.

A private jet menu built here uses local specialities the way the island does. Queso de flor from Guía and flor de Guía cheese slice cleanly for a board, goat cheese from the north rides in the drawer, and fresh Atlantic fish such as vieja or sama is better poached or baked and served cold than seared at altitude. Gofio, the toasted-grain flour, turns up in desserts and in a breakfast the crew will recognise.

Tropical fruit from the island, banana, papaya and mango, gives an inflight menu its colour, and the Canary Islands rum honey or ron miel finishes a glass without needing a galley. Private jet food for GCLP stays simple on purpose: little that needs an oven, nothing that wilts on a warm apron.

The three founders, former VIP cabin crew, on a business jet airstair — private jet catering at Gran Canaria Airport (GCLP)

The apron at GCLP is warm in every season, and anything chilled has to arrive that way and stay that way until the drawer. Private jet catering here means cold boxes, sauces kept apart and a tray plan for a galley that often has no oven. For the flight attendant it is also inflight catering that copes with transatlantic and Africa legs, built as aviation catering for crews who re-plate by hand. Business aviation catering for Gran Canaria covers winter-season charters and executive jet catering for owners wintering in the Canaries; diplomatic flight catering and cabin crew meals are ordered the same way.

Private jet catering in Gran Canaria Island for business and VIP flights (LPA)

Business jet catering at Gran Canaria is mostly winter work: executives leaving the island for mainland Europe, owners returning after a stay, charter groups for the Atlantic season. Corporate jet catering here starts with the seat plan and the galley. VIP flight catering and charter flight catering follow the same brief, and luxury inflight catering is a matter of how the plate is cut and labelled. A private jet chef works a bespoke menu around Canarian products, and we adjust after the first leg.

State & royalDiscretion, protocol

State visit and VIP aviation catering at Gran Canaria Airport

When a state visit crosses Gran Canaria, the menu is agreed with the protocol office before anything is cooked. Government flight catering and head of state flight catering are written around the delegation's restrictions and the aircraft's galley. VIP aviation catering and state visit aircraft catering keep the same quiet routine: named team, sealed boxes, handover at the aircraft.

Special meals

Halal, kosher and kids meals: inflight catering at Gran Canaria Airport (LPA)

Gran Canaria's kitchen leans on fish, nuts, gofio and dairy, so allergens hide in places you would not expect: mojo can carry almonds, gofio is a grain, some fish stocks go into rice. For kosher, halal, vegan, gluten free and allergen free meals we write the procedure around those local products. Each special meal travels in its own sealed box, numbered by seat, with the card on the lid. Kids meals are planned with the same care, and special meals for the crew follow the same labelling.

Crew & pilot mealsOn request

Crew meals for pilots and cabin crew at Gran Canaria Airport (LPA)

On a Gran Canaria turnaround the pilots often arrive from a long Atlantic sector and have little time to sit down. Crew meals are ordered on request with the trip and invoiced like the rest, labelled CREW so nobody opens a passenger tray by mistake. Flight crew meals can be hot or cold; pilot meals and cockpit meals are packed to be eaten from one hand on the flight deck, and different meals for pilots are available when the operator's policy asks for it. Crew catering for a night departure is lighter, crew meal boxes for an early slot lean on breakfast, and everything is handed over with the passenger order.

Ground handling and FBO catering at Gran Canaria Airport

FBO catering at Gran Canaria is delivered to the general aviation terminal and handed to your handling agent for the apron. Catering delivery to the FBO is arranged with the slot, and ground handling catering covers the airside pass and the vehicle. Handling agent catering means one contact on the field who opens the door for us, and you are told who it is before the day.

Aircraft provisioning for large cabins: airport catering at Gran Canaria Airport

Larger aircraft using Gran Canaria need galley catering loaded through a high loader, with a clear plan from the handler before we arrive. Airside catering delivery is agreed with the handling agent, who confirms the door, the stand and the loading sequence. Aircraft provisioning for a bigger galley follows the type: carts, ovens and drawer layout decide what we pack and how.

About the airportGCLP / LPA

About Gran Canaria Airport (LPA): airport catering for business aviation

Gran Canaria Airport is the island's main gateway and, on the archipelago, second only to Tenerife South in traffic, with a general aviation ramp that fills up in winter. Airport catering for business aviation here runs through the FBO on the field, whose FBO services and ground handling services decide how a van reaches the apron and who signs for the boxes. Charters, owners and diplomatic flights all use the same Spanish customs arrangements.

Business aviation

Winter turns the island into a business aviation hub: owners arrive for the sun, charters rotate groups through, and the ramp stays busy. Inflight catering and in-flight catering at GCLP are planned for Atlantic legs and for galleys with no oven. Aviation catering and business aviation catering follow the aircraft, executive jet catering suits owners wintering here, diplomatic flight catering covers official trips, and cabin crew meals and crew meals are packed for the people who serve. Ground handling services on the field set the vehicle pass and the door we use.

Customs & food import

Spain applies EU food rules, but the Canaries sit outside the EU customs territory, so customs treatment of fresh goods arriving from the mainland differs. Your handler's FBO services and ground handling services will tell you what is checked on the apron. What the destination country accepts matters more than departure rules: a non-EU arrival may refuse fresh dairy or meat, and the menu is written around that.

★★★★☆CREW MEALS
“Working around a family lunch request at LPA, I asked for vegetarian wraps and colourful salads in portions appropriate for our 12 passengers. When comparing private jet catering companies, I would look closely at cabin service sequence after this experience. The Galley Girls gave us an update on the starters before the handover, which helped us organise the cabin checks. The cabin team could match the sauces to the request before moving on to the remaining departure tasks.”

★★★★★CHARTER
“We kept the passenger brief simple at Gran Canaria Airport: yoghurt pots and fresh berries for 9 guests, organised with limited fridge space in mind. My search for "private jet catering near me" led to a practical conversation about written menu details. The confirmation from The Galley Girls showed the main courses clearly enough for us to check the planned service quantities. It was useful to see the fruit plates listed separately when checking how much space the complete order would require.”

★★★★★LARGE CABIN
“Menu approval at GCLP covered yoghurt pots and fresh berries for 5 guests, leaving us to organise the service around a family lunch request. After a final adjustment to the main courses, The Galley Girls gave us one revised order summary to work from. There was no need to reconstruct the salads quantities from several messages during the final departure checks. My main takeaway from this private jet catering menu order was the practical approach to portion planning.”

The Gran Canaria questionsAsked by crews
How much does private jet catering cost at Gran Canaria?+

Cost is decided by the menu, not by the airfield. If the passenger loves gofio desserts and local rum, those are priced as separate lines; a plain cold lunch is cheaper. Tell us who is flying and we price it for them.

What is the lead time for private jet catering at GCLP?+

A special-meal request, such as a kosher, halal, allergen free or child's meal, is what most often makes a booking harder, because the sealed box and its card have to be planned. Tell us early about restrictions and last-minute orders are handled.

What about customs when catering for flights from Gran Canaria?+

Customs affects a menu more on long legs: a second service means more perishable food on board. Import rules at the destination decide what is safe to carry, and we write the menu with that in mind.

Can you bring food on board yourself at Gran Canaria?+

Yes, when it is packaged and the handling agent agrees. Early morning departures from Gran Canaria are when it matters most: if you need the food on board before dawn, tell us the day before and we receive it.

Is catering part of a charter into Gran Canaria?+

No, it is a separate order. The galley of the aircraft you are flying decides the menu, not the charter. Tell us the type and we build around it.
