Three of us. All ex VIP cabin crew.

We know the galley, the diet card and the 5 a.m. re-plate — because we lived them. So we built the caterer we always wished we could call.

The local tableCooked so it travels

The Sŏndŏng-ni table, packed for private jet catering

Sondok Airport sits in South Hamgyong Province on the east coast of the Korean peninsula, and the local table here is a seafood table. A private jet menu for ZKSD can draw on that coast: grilled mackerel, squid, pollock, roe and dried fish are part of the regional kitchen. An inflight menu built on them has to be planned around smell and reheating in a small galley, so fish dishes travel sealed and re-plated at the seat.

Private jet food from this region also means cold noodles, kimchi, pickled vegetables, rice and bean-paste soups. Hamhung, the provincial capital, is known for its cold noodles with starch-based buckwheat or potato noodles, and we can build that into private jet platters. Local specialities that need a hot broth travel with the broth in its own container.

For gourmet inflight meals we keep the Korean table simple and clean: rice, steamed fish, seasoned greens, and a fruit plate for dessert. Private jet snacks lean on roasted nuts, dried persimmon and rice crackers. Anything from the region is checked against what customs will let through before it is packed. The same private jet menu for South Hamgyong Province always has a plain international alternative for passengers who do not want local specialities.

The three founders, former VIP cabin crew, on a business jet airstair — private jet catering at Sondok Airport (ZKSD)

Few flight attendants have ever worked a rotation into Sondok, so the galley brief matters more than usual. Private jet catering for DSO is cooked and packed outside the field and delivered through your FBO or handling agent to the aircraft. Inflight catering and in-flight catering here assume nothing can be bought locally at the last minute, which is why aviation catering for this airport leans on sealed, labelled, re-plateable dishes. Business aviation catering and executive jet catering get the same treatment as elsewhere, diplomatic flight catering is cleared by protocol first, and cabin crew meals are a separate line on request.

Private jet catering in Sŏndŏng-ni for business and VIP flights (DSO)

When a corporate flight plans a stop at ZKSD, the question is what the galley can do. Our private jet chef builds a bespoke menu for business jet catering that needs no cooking on board. Corporate jet catering, charter flight catering, VIP flight catering and luxury inflight catering are all packed, labelled and re-plateable.

Inflight catering for government and royal flights at Sondok Airport

For an official visit to DSO, the menu belongs to the protocol office, not the kitchen. Government flight catering and head of state flight catering arrive sealed with an itemised list. VIP aviation catering and state visit aircraft catering are handled by the same named people from order to handover.

Special meals

Special meals and allergen free inflight catering at Sondok Airport

Dietary requests for Sondok are handled as a written procedure, because the regional kitchen leans on fish, soy, sesame and shellfish. Allergen free orders are cooked and sealed on their own, and we flag where fish sauce and bean paste hide in local dishes. Kosher and halal meals travel sealed with their own cutlery, vegan and gluten free plates are built from rice, vegetables and plain proteins, and special meals and kids meals come with a seat number, not a name.

Crew & pilot mealsOn request

Crew meals for pilots and cabin crew at Sondok Airport (DSO)

On a rotation through ZKSD, the crew eats when the aircraft allows. Crew meals and flight crew meals are a request, priced on the invoice. Pilot meals and cockpit meals are packed one-handed, crew meal boxes are marked, and crew catering is kept apart from passenger trays. Different meals for pilots can be packed separately, and cabin crew meals are a distinct request.

FBO catering and handling agent delivery at Sondok Airport

FBO catering at Sondok means delivery to the terminal where your aircraft is handled. Catering delivery to the FBO or the general aviation terminal is arranged with your handling agent. Ground handling catering and handling agent catering follow the same chain, so the trays reach the aircraft sealed and in order.

Aircraft provisioning for large cabins: airport catering at Sondok Airport

At Sondok the airframe sets the loading method: what fits through the cabin door and what needs lifting to the galley. A light business jet takes boxes through the cabin door by hand, while a larger aircraft with a high galley sill may need a high loader for galley catering and aircraft provisioning. Tell us the type and we plan airside catering delivery around it: trolleys, boxes, ice and sealed containers, loaded at the aircraft with your handling agent.

About the airportZKSD / DSO

About Sondok Airport (ZKSD): aviation catering and general aviation

Sondok Airport serves the coast of South Hamgyong Province and is not a routine stop for general aviation. Airport catering here is planned around airside access and customs. For general aviation crews, FBO services and ground handling services are the starting point of any order.

Business aviation

Sondok is no business aviation hub, and that shapes the catering. Inflight catering and in-flight catering for ZKSD are planned rather than improvised, and aviation catering and business aviation catering are packed for the aircraft's own galley. Executive jet catering follows the same sealed approach, diplomatic flight catering goes through protocol, and cabin crew meals are ordered on request.

Customs & food import

Customs and food-import rules in North Korea are strict and subject to change. We check the current position with your handling agent before packing, and we provide an itemised list of every dish. Alcohol, fresh meat and produce are the items to confirm first.

★★★★★VIP AIRLINER
“I wanted mushroom risotto and a green salad for 2 guests at ZKSD, packed sensibly for a cabin team dealing with a tight boarding window. The Galley Girls understood why we wanted the crew provisions readily accessible instead of spread across several different boxes. The canapés were reserved for the next stage, so the worktop stayed clear while we prepared the initial dishes. When comparing private jet catering companies, I would look closely at catering handover after this experience.”

★★★★★LARGE CABIN
“On this departure from DSO, 11 passengers had chosen mini sandwiches and individual desserts, and a small galley worktop needed to be reflected in the order. Instead of asking us to improvise, The Galley Girls explained how the canapés could be arranged during service. The snack boxes stayed together in one group, so another crew member could follow the same plating sequence. My search for "private jet catering near me" led to a practical conversation about portion planning.”

★★★★★CREW MEALS
“Between cabin checks at Sondok Airport, I coordinated roasted chicken and seasonal vegetables for 12 guests and explained our concerns about a late menu amendment. We changed the quantities of starters, and The Galley Girls reflected the request in the final packing list. I would discuss private jet catering menu with them again, especially when packing arrangement needs careful coordination. The note about the main courses was easy to spot, and we could brief the rest of the team quickly.”

Asked before every ZKSD slotAsked by crews
How much does private jet catering cost for a flight into Sondok?+

A simple case: eight guests, one fish course, one cold noodle course, one fruit plate. Private jet catering for that DSO menu is priced on those three items, with crew meals as a separate request. The estimate is yours before we cook.

What lead time should we plan for a night departure or early morning slot at Sondok?+

Think of lead time as a question of what is agreed, not how many hours. Night departure, dawn departure, seasonal sea mist on the coast: we plan the handover around your slot, and last-minute orders are handled.

What should we know about customs on a delegation or government flight into Sondok?+

Delegation flights tend to travel with fixed menus and named dietary needs. We confirm those, seal them, label by seat, and make sure the customs list matches the trays. That keeps inspection at Sondok straightforward.

Can you bring food into North Korea on a private flight, and what are the import rules?+

Think of customs as a filter on the menu: cooked, sealed, labelled dishes usually fare better than raw ingredients. For a flight into DSO we build the menu around that and verify with the handling agent before departure.

Is catering part of a charter into Sondok?+

The charter contract and the catering order are two different things. For a flight to DSO, the food is arranged separately, with delivery coordinated through your FBO or handling agent for airside access at the aircraft.
