Catering to your aircraft in Tripoli.

Mitiga sits on the Mediterranean shore of Tripoli, a former air base that now carries the city's business flights, and almost every tray leaves the kitchen halal. We pack for the galley on your tail and hand over at the aircraft through your handling agent.

Three of us. All ex VIP cabin crew.

We know the galley, the diet card and the 5 a.m. re-plate — because we lived them. So we built the caterer we always wished we could call.

Tripoli on the plate: local specialities for in-flight catering at MJI

Tripoli's table is Mediterranean with a Saharan backbone, and it travels well if you pack it for a galley. A private jet menu for Mitiga leans on bazin, the barley dough eaten with a tomato and lamb sauce, which we pack with the sauce apart so the dough does not sit in liquid. Sharba, the mint and lamb soup served at iftar, goes out in a sealed pot for the oven. Local specialities from the coast include grilled sea bream and calamari from the Tripoli fish market, plated cold or packed for reheating.

For the inflight menu we use Libyan dates from the oases, a staple on every private jet food order here, and asida with date syrup for a lighter finish. Tripoli District also means citrus, olives and almonds, which suit a snack drawer on a long sector. Everything is halal by default; local specialities that carry pork-adjacent ingredients simply do not appear.

The three founders, former VIP cabin crew, on a business jet airstair — private jet catering at Mitiga International Airport (HLLM)

Mitiga's single runway runs along the sea, and the flights that use it are delegations, oil-sector charters and the occasional medevac. Private jet catering here starts with halal as the baseline, Libyan dates in the first drawer, and a handling agent who knows who may walk airside. Inflight catering for these rotations is cooked and packed for the galley you actually fly with, in-flight catering that comes out as seat-numbered trays rather than a buffet. Aviation catering at HLLM, business aviation catering for oil crews and executive jet catering for visiting ministers all run through the same handover at the aircraft. Diplomatic flight catering and cabin crew meals are ordered with the trip and invoiced separately.

Business aviationOur core

Business aviation catering at Mitiga International Airport (MJI)

Business jet catering at Mitiga is mostly oil-sector crews and executive charters, so corporate jet catering here is halal, plain, and built for a quick table. VIP flight catering for ministers or visiting delegations adds a private jet chef and a bespoke menu cleared with the traveller's office. Charter flight catering and luxury inflight catering follow the same line: what the cabin eats is settled by the seat plan, not by the owner.

State & royalDiscretion, protocol

Inflight catering for government and royal flights at Mitiga International Airport

Government flight catering at Mitiga runs through protocol. Head of state flight catering is agreed with the delegation's office before anything is cooked, and VIP aviation catering means named staff and traceable ingredients. State visit aircraft catering is delivered through the handling agent and handed over at the aircraft, with trays marked by seat and no names on labels.

Special meals

Special meals & dietary requirements: in-flight catering at Mitiga International Airport

At Mitiga halal is the baseline, so the kitchen starts there and works outward: kosher is arranged as sealed, separately sourced meals, vegan and gluten free trays are built from the local vegetable and legume repertoire, and allergen free requests are marked per seat. Special meals for children, kids meals with plain rice and grilled chicken, are packed in their own box so no one opens the wrong tray.

Crew & pilot mealsOn request

Crew meals for pilots and cabin crew at Mitiga International Airport (MJI)

On the Tripoli rotation the pilots often wait on a hot apron and eat late, so crew meals at HLLM are built to be eaten from a box in the cockpit. Flight crew meals, pilot meals and cockpit meals are ordered on request with the trip and invoiced like the rest. Crew catering can be hot or cold, and we pack different meals for pilots when the operator's policy asks for it: one eats the chicken, the other the fish. Crew meal boxes are labelled CREW so they never mix with the passenger trays.

DeliveryEvery FBO

Airport catering at the FBO or general aviation terminal, Mitiga International Airport

FBO catering at Mitiga means catering delivery to the FBO or handing it to your handling agent at the general aviation terminal. Ground handling catering is arranged around the airside pass and an escort, and handling agent catering confirms who opens which door. Aircraft slots and apron access decide the handover, not the kitchen.

Aircraft provisioning for large cabins: airport catering at Mitiga International Airport

Mitiga takes everything from light jets to larger business airliners, and the aircraft decides the loading. Galley catering for a narrow-body VIP config is packed in trolleys for a high loader; a light jet takes carry-on boxes through the door. Airside catering delivery goes through your handling agent, and aircraft provisioning is confirmed against the type and the galley before we pack.

About the airportHLLM / MJI

General aviation and airport catering at Mitiga International Airport (MJI)

Mitiga is the airport that Tripoli uses for most of its business aviation, a former air base on the shore. Airport catering here works within a single runway and a tight apron, and general aviation, charters and government flights share it. FBO services and ground handling services are limited, so the order is placed with the agent in mind.

Business aviation

Mitiga is a business aviation hub for western Libya, and inflight catering for its flights is a mix of oil crews, delegations and medevacs. In-flight catering is halal, aviation catering is agreed with the agent, and business aviation catering is packed for a single oven. Executive jet catering, diplomatic flight catering and cabin crew meals are ordered with the trip.

Customs & food import

Libya's food-import rules are strict: no pork, no alcohol, halal meat only, and fresh produce from abroad may be refused. Customs treats catering as stores and inspects it against the manifest. In practice, ordering at Mitiga avoids the issue, and we align the paperwork with your handling agent.

★★★★★CHARTER
“The 4 passenger portions of a seafood starter and warm vegetable sides were the easy part; managing a family lunch request at Mitiga International Airport took more planning. My search for "private jet catering near me" led to a practical conversation about storage requirements. The Galley Girls used a readable packing list for the salads, which helped when two colleagues checked the order together. The sauces were also listed clearly, which made it easier to pass instructions between crew members during preparation.”

★★★★★GOVERNMENT
“Timing and organisation mattered at HLLM, where our order of a seafood starter and warm vegetable sides for 3 people involved a small galley worktop. The Galley Girls grouped the sandwiches by service, which was more useful to us than simply receiving a list of dishes. Our colleague could take over the snack boxes without asking where every component had been placed during preparation. With private jet catering menu, careful attention to storage requirements matters as much to our crew as the menu itself.”

★★★★★VIP AIRLINER
“As the person coordinating smoked salmon bagels and sliced fruit for 4 passengers at MJI, I needed an arrangement that considered a family lunch request. The Galley Girls suggested separate meal boxes for the starters, and that choice worked well with our storage arrangement. I could hand the main courses to a colleague with a short explanation instead of unpacking the whole order. With private aviation catering, careful attention to storage requirements matters as much to our crew as the menu itself.”

Tripoli in five questionsAsked by crews
How much does private jet catering cost at Mitiga?+

Price follows what the aircraft can serve. For HLLM we ask the type first, because it decides whether we pack sauces apart, how many oven trays fit, and whether a high loader is involved; the quote follows from that.

What is the lead time for special meals at Mitiga?+

Children's meals and allergen requests are the items to name early. Everything else at Mitiga can be adjusted later, and last-minute orders are handled, but a special meal is packed and labelled per seat.

What about customs for catering at Mitiga?+

Catering for Tripoli moves through the agent, who knows which vehicles may enter the apron and which documents are checked. We pack and label to match the manifest.

Can you bring food into Libya on a private jet?+

Customs and food-import rules decide this: fresh meat and dairy from abroad are usually refused, and halal certification matters. Catering ordered at HLLM is already compliant.

Is catering part of a charter into Tripoli?+

Catering sits outside a charter contract. On a delegation flight into HLLM, we cook against a menu cleared by the delegation's office and bill it separately.
