Three of us. All ex VIP cabin crew.

We know the galley, the diet card and the 5 a.m. re-plate — because we lived them. So we built the caterer we always wished we could call.

Local specialities from Valletta for your inflight catering

Start with what grows on a rock in the sun: tomatoes, capers, olives, carob and citrus. Malta's private jet food is built from that palette, then lifted with fish and sheep's-milk cheese. For the cabin, a ftira filled with tuna, capers and sun-dried tomato is the island's answer to a club sandwich, and it keeps well on a plate that waits in the drawer.

The inflight menu changes with the calendar. Lampuki, the dolphinfish, runs late summer into winter, usually baked into a pie or fried. In spring, broad beans and fresh ġbejniet turn up, and in summer, figs and prickly pears. Maltese local specialities such as bragioli, beef olives in tomato sauce, and timpana, baked macaroni with a pastry crust, suit a long dinner leg because they hold heat in a foil pan.

We read {Region} as both the island and the plateau at Luqa: produce from Gozo and Mellieħa, fish from Marsaxlokk, honey and kunserva from local producers. A private jet menu for Malta International therefore writes itself around what is in season, and we adapt it to the galley you actually have.

The three founders, former VIP cabin crew, on a business jet airstair — private jet catering at Malta International Airport (LMML)

Heat is the first thing a galley meets at Malta International: August ramp temperatures change what you can safely hold chilled before departure. Our private jet catering for LMML is built around that, with fish, dairy and dressings packed to travel. Business aviation catering in Malta often means yachting owners, gaming-industry executives and island-hopping charters, and inflight catering orders reflect it: light mezze, grilled swordfish, ftira sandwiches. For in-flight catering on onward legs to the Gulf or West Africa, we pack for two services. Executive jet catering, diplomatic flight catering and cabin crew meals follow the same single order.

  • Restaurant cuisine, cooked on the ground
  • Fresh and local produce

Business aviation catering at Malta International Airport (MLA)

Business jet catering at Malta International is usually a yachting owner, a delegation from the gaming sector or a charter crew heading to the Gulf. Corporate jet catering and VIP flight catering follow the same brief: what is the leg, who is on board, what does the galley allow? Charter flight catering for a group returning to Europe leans on cold platters, while luxury inflight catering for a long sector uses a private jet chef and a bespoke menu built around Gozo cheese, fresh fish and local bread.

Government flight catering at Malta International handles delegations, ministers and official arrivals. Head of state flight catering and state visit aircraft catering require menus cleared by protocol before anything is cooked, named staff and sealed handover. VIP aviation catering in Valletta also covers visiting diplomats and security teams, with traceability by seat, never by name.

Special meals

Allergen free special meals and aviation catering at Malta International Airport (LMML)

At Malta International we treat a dietary request as a procedure adapted to the island's kitchen. Kosher and halal orders are sourced and sealed separately; vegan menus are built from local produce: tomatoes, capers, broad beans, carob and olive oil. Gluten free and allergen free meals mean watching bread, pastry and the fish stocks that hide in many Maltese sauces. Special meals and kids meals are marked by seat number, never by name.

Crew & pilot mealsOn request

Crew meal boxes and crew meals at Malta International Airport

At Luqa the crew usually stays with the aircraft, so cockpit meals have to work between checks and radio calls, eaten one-handed if needed. Crew meals are ordered on request and invoiced like the rest of the order, never folded into the passenger menu. Flight crew meals can be a ftira with grilled chicken, or a hot tray sealed for the oven, and pilot meals can differ for captain and first officer when the operator's policy asks for it. Crew catering goes out as crew meal boxes marked CREW, so they stay apart from guest trays, and different meals for pilots are set out by seat, not by name.

FBO catering at Malta International Airport (MLA): delivery to your aircraft

FBO catering at Malta International means delivery to the general aviation terminal, where your handling agent receives the order. We coordinate catering delivery to the FBO with ground handling catering rules, and handling agent catering follows the same route as passengers and baggage. The door, the apron access and the slot decide who opens what and when.

Aircraft provisioning and airport catering at Malta International Airport (LMML)

For larger cabins at LMML, galley catering depends on the aircraft type: door height decides whether a high loader is needed or a hand-carried trolley will do. Airside catering delivery is coordinated with your handling agent so the aircraft provisioning matches the galley layout, not just the menu.

About the airportLMML / MLA

About Malta International Airport: business aviation and airport catering

Malta International Airport is the island's single commercial gateway, with a dedicated general aviation terminal for business aircraft. Airport catering here is shaped by one runway pair, Mediterranean heat and strong seasonal demand. General aviation traffic includes yacht-owner flights, charters and regional corporate sectors.

Business aviation

As a business aviation hub, Malta International attracts executive flights from Europe, the Gulf and North Africa. Inflight catering and in-flight catering for these sectors adapt to the length of the leg; aviation catering and business aviation catering follow the aircraft type. Executive jet catering, diplomatic flight catering for visiting delegations and cabin crew meals for the operating crew are all ordered through the same request. FBO services and ground handling services at Luqa support the delivery.

Customs & food import

Malta follows EU food-safety rules, so meat, dairy and fish from outside the bloc are restricted, and waste from international flights must be handled by approved channels. For catering orders, that means local sourcing is the simplest route and the handling agent confirms what can be loaded.

★★★★★BUSINESS JET
“Rather than an elaborate service at LMML, our 2 guests wanted a light pasta dish with grilled vegetables, organised sensibly around a tight boarding window. We discussed the dimensions before confirming; The Galley Girls grouped the sauces into stackable containers that were easy to handle. The written menu details stood out more than any sales pitch about in-flight catering. We placed the fruit plates in their planned storage area without first having to reorganise all the catering boxes.”

★★★★★ROYAL FLIGHT
“Having 12 guests request vegetarian wraps and colourful salads at MLA meant planning the portions carefully while accounting for a short ground stop. This experience of vip inflight catering gave us a useful reference for managing written menu details on another departure. The crew provisions from The Galley Girls were organised around the cabin plan, with the later service items kept apart. That left time to check the sauces properly before the passengers were ready for the next part of the service.”

★★★★★LARGE CABIN
“Working around limited fridge space at Malta International Airport, I asked for roasted vegetable bowls with separate dressings in portions appropriate for our 7 passengers. My main takeaway from this private jet catering order was the practical approach to written menu details. I asked The Galley Girls for the fruit plates in stackable containers, with garnishes supplied separately for plating on board. It made a difference to have the sauces ready without cluttering the galley work area during preparation.”

Ordering for LMML, in shortAsked by crews
How much does private jet catering cost out of Malta?+

Cost moves with what is in the sea and the orchard. Swordfish in summer, lampuki from late August, citrus in winter: each changes the line. Weather windows that stack departures can also raise demand, so the best way to know is to send your menu wishes and headcount.

What is the lead time for private jet catering at LMML?+

A long leg out of Malta with two services on board gives us more to prepare: a cold course, a hot main, then breakfast or a snack. We would rather build both services properly, so send the route early; last-minute orders are handled when plans change.

How do customs affect inflight catering at Malta International?+

Customs matter most on the way in: EU rules limit meat and dairy from third countries, which is another reason to order locally. Your departure slot and a short turnaround change when the drop is accepted, so give your handling agent the timings.

Can you bring food from home onto a private jet at LMML?+

Rules and practicalities both argue against it: EU limits on meat and dairy, uncertain cold chain, and no way to check allergens. Order a return leg from Malta and we pack it sealed, with seat labels.

Is catering part of a charter into Valletta?+

No. The charter price does not include meals; they are a separate order. Expect a late change in passengers, and tell us: we adjust portions rather than leave anyone short.
