Three of us. All ex VIP cabin crew.

We know the galley, the diet card and the 5 a.m. re-plate — because we lived them. So we built the caterer we always wished we could call.

The local tableCooked so it travels

Private jet catering with local specialities from Soyo

Soyo lives on the Atlantic and on the river. The Zaire Province coast is built around fish, cassava, palm oil and heat, and a private jet menu for Soyo works best when it borrows from that table without fighting the galley. Local specialities travel in different ways: moamba de galinha, the chicken stew with palm oil and okra that Angola is known for, is packed hot in a sealed tray with the funge on the side; grilled fish is portioned and sent chilled, to be re-plated cold or warmed gently; fresh fruit from the Angolan coast, such as mango and papaya in season, goes into private jet snacks. For a private jet food order we separate anything with groundnut or palm oil from the rest and say so on the label. The inflight menu for a Soyo rotation is short on purpose, because the tropical heat on the apron punishes anything delicate. Private jet platters of cold meats, cheeses and cut fruit hold well; gourmet inflight meals are built so the crew only has to open, heat and plate. Everything is cooked and packed for the aircraft and handed over at the FBO or by your handling agent.

The three founders, former VIP cabin crew, on a business jet airstair — private jet catering at Soyo Airport (FNSO)

FNSO is a working airstrip first and a destination second, and the food that suits it is practical: things that hold in a warm cabin and finish in a small oven. We pack private jet catering for Soyo by seat number, with cabin crew meals boxed separately from the guest trays. In-flight catering for oil-sector executives, aviation catering for visiting delegations and business aviation catering for charter operators all go through the same plane-side handover at the FBO, agreed with your handling agent.

Business aviationOur core

Corporate and VIP jet catering at Soyo Airport (SZA)

Business jet catering at Soyo is usually a short brief: a few executives, an oil-sector schedule, a light or midsize jet. Corporate jet catering here favours a bespoke menu that survives heat, so our private jet chef builds around cold plates, sauces apart and ice counted by seat. VIP flight catering and charter flight catering follow the same discipline, and luxury inflight catering for a longer return leg is packed to hold.

State & royalDiscretion, protocol

State visit and VIP aviation catering at Soyo Airport

Government flight catering at Soyo begins with protocol, not with the kitchen. Head of state flight catering and VIP aviation catering are cleared before anything is cooked, traceable by tray and labelled by seat number only. For a state visit aircraft catering order at FNSO, a named team handles every line, and discretion is part of how we work at SZA.

Special meals

Special meals and allergen free inflight catering at Soyo Airport

Dietary requests at Soyo are handled as a procedure, not a label. Kosher, halal, vegan, gluten free and allergen free meals each get their own prep surface and sealed packaging, marked by seat number. The local kitchen leans on groundnut, palm oil and fish, so allergens are declared on every tray and kept apart from guest dishes. Kids meals and other special meals are agreed with the order and handed over with the rest at the FBO.

Crew & pilot mealsOn request

Flight crew meals on request at Soyo Airport

For crews rotating through FNSO, we write crew meals as part of the order, on request and invoiced with it. Flight crew meals and crew catering are packed in their own box, pilot meals and cockpit meals are designed to be eaten fast and clean, and crew meal boxes are marked CREW. If the captain and first officer should not share a dish, we pack different meals for pilots as the operator policy asks.

Airport catering at the FBO or general aviation terminal, Soyo Airport

The handover at Soyo happens at the FBO or by your handling agent, and it is agreed before the slot. FBO catering and catering delivery to the general aviation terminal are the same service. Ground handling catering and handling agent catering depend on who controls access to the apron on the day, and we coordinate with them.

Galley-door delivery and aviation catering at Soyo Airport (SZA)

On the Soyo apron it is the tail number that settles how galley catering gets from the trolley to the cabin. A light jet takes a trolley carried up the stair, while a larger cabin may need a high loader, and your handling agent confirms which at the apron. Airside catering delivery is arranged around the aircraft door and its sill height, and aircraft provisioning for a heavier type, with extra ice and larger trays, is packed to match. Tell us the tail and we pack for the aircraft you actually fly.

About the airportFNSO / SZA

About Soyo Airport: business aviation and airport catering

Soyo Airport, FNSO, is a small field at 15 ft above sea level on the Zaire Province coast, used mainly by oil-sector traffic and charter operators. Airport catering here is simple in structure, and FBO services and ground handling services on the one general aviation apron decide how and where a galley order is passed over.

Business aviation

Soyo is a business aviation hub for the Angolan oil sector, and the field sees mostly light and midsize jets. Inflight catering, in-flight catering and aviation catering for these flights are written around slots rather than season. Business aviation catering, executive jet catering and diplomatic flight catering all go through the same FBO handover, with ground handling services agreeing the apron access, and cabin crew meals are boxed apart from the guest trays, as crew meals should be.

Customs & food import

Customs at Soyo follow Angolan food-import regulations, and animal and plant products are treated strictly. Your handling agent coordinates declarations through the usual FBO services and ground handling services; ordering catering at FNSO avoids carrying fresh provisions in at all.

★★★★★BUSINESS JET
“Having 9 guests request beef fillet with roasted potatoes at Soyo Airport meant planning the portions carefully while accounting for an evening cabin service. The Galley Girls suggested individual containers for the fruit plates, and that choice worked well with our storage arrangement. The canapés were easy to locate, leaving the crew free to focus on the remaining cabin preparation. This experience of airline catering gave us a useful reference for managing catering handover on another departure.”

★★★★★CHARTER
“Small packing details became important at FNSO: our 11 passengers wanted a cold lunch with cheese and fruit, and we had a short ground stop. The Galley Girls updated the salads in the written order and sent back a confirmation that clearly showed our amendments. There was no need to reconstruct the desserts quantities from several messages during the final departure checks. I appreciated the emphasis on written menu details throughout the crew meals arrangements.”

★★★★★ROYAL FLIGHT
“We kept the passenger brief simple at SZA: a mezze selection with flatbreads for 12 guests, organised with a short ground stop in mind. The sandwiches supplied by The Galley Girls were straightforward to check against the written menu before the cabin handover. The storage requirements stood out more than any sales pitch about FBO catering. Keeping the canapés identifiable helped the colleague taking over service understand the order without another long explanation.”

Soyo: the questionsAsked by crews
How much does private jet catering cost for a flight out of Soyo?+

A cold platter of cassava chips, cured meats and seasonal fruit sits at one end; a hot palm-oil stew with sealed sides sits at the other. How much private jet catering costs at Soyo is a question of where your menu falls between them, and we price it once you send the aircraft type and seat plan.

What is the lead time for a night or early morning departure from Soyo?+

Whether you leave at midnight or at first light, the order is cooked around your slot and passed over at the aircraft. We are reachable 24/7, so a late change to the menu or the headcount can still be made.

What should a delegation or government flight know about customs and catering at Soyo?+

A government aircraft changes the order of things: protocol first, then customs, then the menu. We prepare diplomatic flight catering with allergen and dietary detail written down, sealed per seat, and passed over through the approved airside route.

Can you bring food into Angola, or should it be catered at Soyo?+

Food entering Angola goes through customs inspection, and rules on animal and plant products are strict. If your aircraft is carrying provisions, declare them through your agent; for the outbound leg, order here and the question never comes up.

Is catering part of a charter into Soyo?+

Catering sits on its own invoice, apart from the private jet charter. At FNSO your handling agent arranges access to the apron, and we coordinate the handover on your slot.
