We know the galley, the diet card and the 5 a.m. re-plate — because we lived them. So we built the caterer we always wished we could call.

The local tableCooked so it travels

Local specialities from Manama for your inflight catering

Manama's table is Gulf by habit and pearl-diving island by history. Machbous, the spiced rice with lamb or chicken, is the dish a Bahraini host would put first on a private jet menu, and it travels well if the rice is packed apart from the sauce. Muharraq's own sweet is halwa, the dense saffron and cardamom sweet sold in round tins, which suits a crew drawer better than any dessert that needs cooling.

Seafood is local and seasonal: hammour grilled with spices, safi in the cooler months, and fried or marinated shrimp from the Gulf. For an inflight menu these are packed hot in foil and reheated for a few minutes, never cooked from raw. Mezze, samboosa and fresh flatbread cover the cold side; flatbread goes in last so it stays soft until the passengers sit down.

For private jet food that reads as Bahrain without needing a chef on board, we build around these local specialities and keep the Muharraq Governorate's habits in mind: dates on every tray, laban and fresh juice in their own sealed bottles, coffee in a flask rather than a pot.

The three founders, former VIP cabin crew, on a business jet airstair — private jet catering at Bahrain International Airport (OBBI)

When the Formula 1 weekend fills the Muharraq apron, the flight attendant is the one counting trays against a slot that keeps moving. Private jet catering at Bahrain International is built around that: halal as the default, labelled by seat. Inflight catering, in-flight catering, aviation catering and business aviation catering all reach the aircraft the same way, through your FBO. Executive jet catering for the owner's flight, diplomatic flight catering for the delegation and cabin crew meals for the front and back of the aircraft are ordered on the same sheet.

  • Restaurant cuisine, cooked on the ground
  • Fresh and local produce
  • Labelled by seat, diet and reheat
  • Aviation-ready packaging

Business aviationOur core

Business jet catering at Bahrain International Airport for VIP flights

Business jet catering at Bahrain International usually starts with a Gulf shuttle: a corporate jet in from Riyadh or Dubai, a short turn on the Muharraq apron, and a galley with one oven and no space to spare. Corporate jet catering here leans on halal lamb, grilled hammour and mezze that survive an hour in the drawer. VIP flight catering for a family or delegation is built around shared platters with the seat plan written on the lid. Charter flight catering for the Grand Prix weekend is ordered early, because slots compress and last-minute changes are common. Luxury inflight catering is a matter of finish: a private jet chef plates a bespoke menu in the kitchen, packs each course so that re-plating takes two minutes, and marks anything that must stay chilled until the seatbelt sign goes off.

State & royalDiscretion, protocol

Government flight catering and aviation catering at Bahrain International Airport (OBBI)

Government flight catering at OBBI is shaped by protocol before food: the menu is cleared by the delegation's office, and the people who cook and pack it are named in advance. Head of state flight catering for a Gulf visit means halal throughout, no alcohol on any tray or in any sauce, dates and Arabic coffee as the opening gesture, and a sealed hand-over at the aircraft door. VIP aviation catering for ministers follows the same discipline with a smaller footprint. State visit aircraft catering is traced item by item, with the handling agent present when the boxes move airside. Discretion is the standard, not an add-on to the brief.

Special meals

Dietary requirements and aviation catering at Bahrain International Airport (OBBI)

At Bahrain International halal is the baseline, so the question is rarely whether, but how strictly: no pork, no alcohol in the cooking, labelled by seat. Kosher meals are sourced sealed with their certificate and travel in the original packaging so nobody opens them by mistake. Vegan, gluten free and allergen free special meals are cooked on a separate board, since tahini, nuts and wheat flatbread sit close together in Gulf cooking. Kids meals are packed plain and mild, in a box that opens one-handed.

Crew & pilot mealsOn request

Pilot meals and crew meals at Bahrain International Airport (BAH)

Crew meals at OBBI are ordered on request and invoiced like the rest of the order, so mention the rotation when it is long. On a short Muharraq turn, flight crew meals are things you can eat standing in the galley: rice boxes, grilled chicken wraps, fruit. Pilot meals for the flight deck are packed for one hand, and where operator policy asks for it we prepare different meals for pilots so the captain and first officer never eat the same dish. Cockpit meals and crew meal boxes carry a CREW label so they stay out of the passenger drawer, and crew catering for a long overnight wait on the ramp gets a proper hot plate.

DeliveryEvery FBO

Airport catering delivered to the FBO at Bahrain International Airport (OBBI)

FBO catering at Bahrain International goes to the general aviation terminal on the Muharraq side, where the handling agent controls the gate and the airside escort. Catering delivery to the FBO is timed to your slot, not ours; during a Grand Prix weekend the apron fills, so we plan the van's arrival with the ground handling catering window in mind. Handling agent catering coordination means one named contact on the ground who knows your tail number, the stand and who signs for the boxes.

High loader delivery for jet catering at Bahrain International Airport (BAH)

Aircraft type decides how galley catering reaches the cabin. A Global or Gulfstream takes carts through the main door by hand; a larger VIP airliner on Muharraq may need a high loader for airside catering delivery, booked with the handler. Aircraft provisioning at OBBI is planned around the galley you actually have: oven count, drawer space and chiller capacity decide how much is packed hot and how much stays cold.

About the airportOBBI / BAH

About Bahrain International Airport (BAH): airport catering for business aviation

Bahrain International Airport is the kingdom's only commercial gateway, on Muharraq Island and tied to Manama by causeway. Airport catering for private aircraft shares the field with a busy airline schedule, so business aircraft are routed to a general aviation terminal with its own ramp slots. FBO services and ground handling services run from there, and general aviation crews deal with the same handling agent for stands, escorts and airside passes.

Business aviation

OBBI works as a business aviation hub for the Gulf, busiest around the spring Grand Prix and the winter conference season. Inflight catering and in-flight catering here are halal-first. Aviation catering and business aviation catering follow ramp discipline: executive jet catering for the owner's trip, diplomatic flight catering cleared through protocol, cabin crew meals added on request. FBO services and ground handling services decide how early boxes can go airside, so the handler's cut-off matters more than the menu.

Customs & food import

Bahrain restricts pork and alcohol and inspects fresh meat and dairy arriving from abroad, so customs rarely touches food cooked locally for an outbound general aviation flight. What an aircraft uplifts on a return leg is checked on arrival. FBO services and ground handling services here know the routine, but declare anything unusual to the handling agent before the aircraft lands.

★★★★★BUSINESS JET
“A request for grilled salmon with a lemon dressing, 7 passengers, and a tight boarding window: that was our brief for the departure at BAH. With private jet catering menu, careful attention to crew briefing matters as much to our crew as the menu itself. The fruit plates supplied by The Galley Girls were straightforward to check against the written menu before the cabin handover. We could distinguish the breakfast portions at a glance instead of lifting lids just to establish what belonged to each service.”

★★★★★LARGE CABIN
“Clear quantities were essential at Bahrain International Airport: we had 5 passengers expecting a cheese board and savoury canapés and were working around an evening cabin service. I would discuss private aviation catering with them again, especially when storage requirements needs careful coordination. We discussed the dimensions before confirming; The Galley Girls grouped the side dishes into separate meal boxes that were easy to handle. Separating the fruit plates from the first service items helped us avoid opening boxes we did not yet need.”

★★★★★LARGE CABIN
“Service planning came first at OBBI, with 6 passengers choosing chicken skewers with a couscous salad and limited fridge space influencing our preparation. I asked The Galley Girls to review the canapés quantities against the passenger brief, and the proposed portions made sense. There was enough information about the fruit plates to brief the crew without making assumptions about what had been ordered. The final order confirmation stood out more than any sales pitch about business jet catering.”

Before you order at OBBIAsked by crews
How much does private jet catering cost when a Grand Prix weekend squeezes Bahrain departures?+

The season moves the bill more than the aircraft. Weekend departure windows tighten sourcing and packing, so chilled Gulf seafood in July costs more to keep safe than a mezze and flatbread order in January. Give us the date and headcount and we price the actual menu, not a generic figure.

What lead time works for the Muharraq apron, and who clears the vehicle airside?+

Our lead time is ten hours before departure where possible, and shorter notice is still handled. The handling agent sets the real limit, because the airside pass and escort have to be arranged before the van can move. Send the registration early even if the menu is still open.

What if the passenger count changes at the last minute at OBBI?+

Tell the handler and tell us. We pack to the final count, not the booking, because Bahrain's import rules push us to cook locally rather than stock ahead. Extra platters are a small adjustment; extra seats at the door are not.

Can you bring food on board in Bahrain during a long crew wait?+

You can, but it rarely survives duty time on a hot apron, and fresh imports are inspected. For a crew sitting on the ground, a hot meal ordered for the day is simpler than a cooler left in the cockpit.

Is catering part of a charter into Bahrain, and what do customs say?+

No. The charter price covers the aircraft and crew; food is ordered and invoiced separately. Bahrain's customs rules on pork, alcohol and imported fresh food mean it is better bought and loaded locally, so send the tail and the slot.
