Three of us. All ex VIP cabin crew.

We know the galley, the diet card and the 5 a.m. re-plate — because we lived them. So we built the caterer we always wished we could call.

The Algiers table, packed for private jet catering

Algiers gives a private jet menu a clear Mediterranean spine: sea bream and red mullet from the bay, couscous in its many regional forms, chorba, and pastries built on almonds and honey. Local specialities travel differently from one another, so a private jet menu for DAAG is written dish by dish. Couscous grain and the vegetable broth are packed apart so the grain does not turn heavy before service.

Dates from the south, Deglet Nour especially, are the natural private jet food for the cabin: they need no heat, no plating and survive any drawer. Mint tea and orange-blossom water give the inflight menu a recognisable Algiers note. The Province of Algiers is also the place for citrus and fresh herbs, which we use as garnish rather than a main flavour, and pastries like makrout go into sealed boxes marked by seat. For {Region}, we prefer a short menu that the galley can actually finish.

The three founders, former VIP cabin crew, on a business jet airstair — private jet catering at Houari Boumediene Airport (DAAG)

Runway 05/23 at Houari Boumediene sees the same aircraft types come back to Algiers all year, and the galley on each one decides the menu. Private jet catering here means Mediterranean cooking packed for one oven and one drawer, with executive jet catering for oil and gas delegations, diplomatic flight catering for official arrivals and cabin crew meals ordered alongside. Inflight catering and in-flight catering from our side is written by former VIP flight attendants who know how a tray is re-plated at altitude. Aviation catering and business aviation catering requests at DAAG arrive in every season, and we treat each as a fresh brief.

VIP flight and private jet catering at Houari Boumediene Airport (DAAG)

Business jet catering and corporate jet catering at Houari Boumediene follow the pattern of the Algiers visitor: energy-sector delegations, diaspora families in summer, and ministerial travel. A private jet chef writes a bespoke menu around the aircraft's galley, with VIP flight catering and luxury inflight catering for the owner's cabin and charter flight catering for the brokered trips. Menus are agreed against the headcount and the tail.

Diplomatic and state visit aviation catering in Algiers (DAAG)

State visit aircraft catering into ALG is built from a menu that protocol has already approved. Government flight catering and VIP aviation catering use sealed, labelled trays, and head of state flight catering is coordinated with the handling agent so access is settled before the aircraft taxis in.

Kosher, halal, vegan and gluten free in-flight catering at Houari Boumediene Airport (ALG)

A child on the manifest changes how a tray is built, and in Algiers it also changes where allergens hide: nuts in pastries, sesame in breads and sauces, gluten in semolina and couscous. We prepare kosher, halal, vegan, gluten free, allergen free and kids meals as special meals on request, each on its own board and in its own sealed box. Halal is the default in local cooking, so it is the easiest request to meet here.

Crew & pilot mealsOn request

Crew meals for pilots and cabin crew at Houari Boumediene Airport (ALG)

Crew meals at Algiers are an item you add to the order, commanded and invoiced like the rest. A rotation that lands at DAAG often turns around on the same ramp, so flight crew meals and pilot meals are boxed to be eaten from a jumpseat. Cockpit meals can differ for captain and first officer, with different meals for pilots when the operator asks for it, and crew meal boxes carry a CREW label so they never end up on a guest tray. Crew catering is built from the same Mediterranean ingredients, lighter on sauce.

Airport catering at the FBO or general aviation terminal, Houari Boumediene Airport

At Algiers the handling agent opens the door, and we meet the aircraft there. FBO catering is brought through the general aviation terminal side, with ground handling catering timed to the slot. Catering delivery to the aircraft follows the agent's procedures, and handling agent catering instructions travel with the order.

High loaderLarge cabins, bizliners

Large cabin jet catering with a high loader at Houari Boumediene Airport (ALG)

At DAAG the aircraft type decides the loading: a light jet is carried by hand through the cabin door, while a larger cabin may need a high loader at the galley door. Galley catering is packed for the actual oven and drawer count on the tail. Airside catering delivery follows the handling agent's access rules, and aircraft provisioning is done once the cabin is released.

About the airportDAAG / ALG

Aviation catering and business aviation at Houari Boumediene Airport (ALG)

DAAG serves Algiers and the surrounding province and is the country's busiest airport. Airport catering for private aircraft is organised through the FBO and general aviation terminal, with FBO services and ground handling services handled by the agent in charge of the ramp. The airport is an established business aviation hub for the region.

Business aviation

Business aviation at Algiers is shaped by the energy sector and state business, and inflight catering, in-flight catering and aviation catering orders reflect that. Business aviation catering for charters, executive jet catering for delegations, diplomatic flight catering for official movements and cabin crew meals for the rotation all pass through DAAG in the same week.

Customs & food import

Algerian customs inspect food entering the country, and fresh meat, dairy and produce draw the most attention. Pork and alcohol are particularly sensitive. For an incoming aircraft, sealed and labelled catering is easiest to clear, and local ordering for the departure sector avoids most questions.

★★★★★VIP AIRLINER
“Getting smoked salmon bagels and sliced fruit ready for 5 guests at ALG required an order that accounted for a short ground stop. The Galley Girls kept the side dishes separate from the finishing elements, which gave us control over the final presentation. We could finish the main courses as each guest was ready, rather than laying everything out at once. This experience of flight catering gave us a useful reference for managing catering handover on another departure.”

★★★★★CREW MEALS
“The cabin briefing at Houari Boumediene Airport included 10 passenger meals, a request for prawn salad and small fruit plates, and instructions addressing a family lunch request. The Galley Girls grouped the desserts by service, which was more useful to us than simply receiving a list of dishes. Our colleague could take over the sandwiches without asking where every component had been placed during preparation. I would discuss flight catering services with them again, especially when crew briefing needs careful coordination.”

★★★★★ROYAL FLIGHT
“Clear quantities were essential at DAAG: we had 9 passengers expecting yoghurt pots and fresh berries and were working around a changing departure schedule. I gave The Galley Girls our storage brief and asked for the sauces to arrive in stackable containers. I appreciated the emphasis on written menu details throughout the airline catering arrangements. We placed the desserts in their planned storage area without first having to reorganise all the catering boxes.”

Questions crews ask about AlgiersAsked by crews
How much does private jet catering cost at Algiers?+

Winter and summer pull the Algiers menu in different directions, and the price follows. Sea bream and red mullet from the bay cost more in the weather window when departures bunch up, while dates, almonds and flatbread stay modest all year. We quote against a menu for the tail and the headcount, not a flat charge.

What is the lead time for private jet catering at Houari Boumediene?+

Crew duty time is what shapes lead time at DAAG: a crew that cannot wait on the ground wants the order settled before the trip is filed. Cold platters and dates are the easiest to arrange, a full hot service needs more planning, and last-minute orders are handled. If a dish will not make the slot, we say so early.

Are there customs rules for inflight catering into Algeria?+

A short repositioning flight into Algiers with an empty cabin still carries catering rules: food crossing into Algeria is subject to customs inspection, and pork or alcohol need particular care. We pack sealed and labelled trays that are straightforward to declare, which keeps in-flight catering clear of the ramp inspection.

Can you bring food on a private jet at Algiers?+

The galley size on the tail decides more than any rule: a large cabin takes outside food easily, a light jet with one oven and one drawer does not. Customs still apply to anything entering Algeria, so keep items sealed and ready to declare, or order from us and we pack it for the galley you have.

Is catering part of a charter into Algiers?+

No. Is catering part of a charter? Not here: the charter covers the aircraft, and food is a separate order invoiced on its own. A child, a kosher, halal or allergen request is prepared as special meals apart from the main service, on its own board, and appears as its own line.
