Three of us. All ex VIP cabin crew.

We know the galley, the diet card and the 5 a.m. re-plate — because we lived them. So we built the caterer we always wished we could call.

Regional dishes of Te One for jet catering at CHT

A private jet menu for Te One starts at the water. Blue cod, crayfish and paua are the island's own, and they define the local specialities we pack for NZCI: seafood that is cleaned and portioned on the ground so the galley only has to finish it.

Wellington Region is the formal address, but the table here is Chatham Islands: kumara, lamb, wild seafood and a short list of things a galley can finish without fuss. Our inflight menu leans on that list and labels each dish for seat number and service.

Private jet food at CHT has to cope with a remote supply line, so the menu is shorter than a big-city one and better for it. Seafood, lamb, kumara and bread cover most orders, with other requests treated as bespoke orders and quoted as such.

The three founders, former VIP cabin crew, on a business jet airstair — private jet catering at Inia William Tuuta Memorial Airport (NZCI)

Chatham Island has one runway at Te One and no second option on the day, so a plan for the galley has to hold up on its own. Private jet catering at NZCI is built for that: cooked, labelled and handed over at the aircraft through your handling agent. For inflight catering and business aviation catering, executive jet catering, or diplomatic flight catering on this field, one brief covers it, and cabin crew meals travel with the same order.

  • Restaurant cuisine, cooked on the ground
  • Fresh and local produce
  • Labelled by seat, diet and reheat
  • Aviation-ready packaging
  • High loader for large cabins

Business aviationOur core

Business jet catering at Inia William Tuuta Memorial Airport for VIP flights

Business jet catering at Te One is a small, specific brief: usually a light or midsize aircraft with a few guests, often positioned for a fishing or conservation trip. Corporate jet catering here favours seafood and lamb, charter flight catering is ordered per trip, and VIP flight catering follows the guests' own preferences. Luxury inflight catering means a private jet chef writing a bespoke menu around what the island supplies.

State & royalDiscretion, protocol

Private jet catering for government and royal flights at Inia William Tuuta Memorial Airport (CHT)

Government flight catering at NZCI is arranged around protocol, not speed: names are held back, labels carry seat numbers only, and the team that packs is the team that is cleared. Head of state flight catering and state visit aircraft catering get the same discretion, and VIP aviation catering is handled by a named lead who coordinates with the handling agent.

Crew & pilot mealsOn request

Crew meals on request for flights from Te One (CHT)

When a flight lands on Chatham Island and cannot leave, the crew needs a real meal. We pack crew meals and flight crew meals to order, invoiced as a normal line, with pilot meals and cockpit meals kept apart. Crew catering here is built around waiting, so crew meal boxes hold up for hours. Different meals for pilots follow operator policy, and cabin crew meals are packed with the rest of the crew service.

DeliveryEvery FBO

FBO delivery and FBO catering at Inia William Tuuta Memorial Airport (CHT)

FBO catering at NZCI means handing the order over at the general aviation terminal or straight to the aircraft. Catering delivery to the FBO runs through your handling agent, and ground handling catering is coordinated so airside access is already arranged. Handling agent catering on a small field like Te One is a short conversation, and we keep it that way.

Aircraft provisioning for large cabins: airport catering at Inia William Tuuta Memorial Airport

Most visitors to Te One are small enough that galley catering goes up the stairs by hand. For a larger aircraft, airside catering delivery and aircraft provisioning move to a high loader, arranged ahead with the handling agent so equipment is on the apron when the aircraft is.

About the airportNZCI / CHT

General aviation and airport catering at Inia William Tuuta Memorial Airport (CHT)

Inia William Tuuta Memorial Airport serves the Chatham Islands from Te One, the main settlement on Chatham Island. It is a remote island airport with a single runway, and airport catering here is shaped by that remoteness. General aviation traffic is modest, so FBO services and ground handling services are a small, personal operation where every arrival gets attention.

Business aviation

Business aviation catering at Chatham Islands is a niche: fishing parties, conservation groups, occasional diplomatic flight catering for official visits. Inflight catering and in-flight catering are both ordered per trip, aviation catering is bespoke rather than catalogued, and executive jet catering draws on local seafood. Cabin crew meals and crew meals are part of the same order, and the handling agent's ground handling services cover the apron side. As a business aviation hub it is small, but the service is full.

Customs & food import

New Zealand enforces strict biosecurity: meat, dairy, honey and fresh produce arriving from abroad must be declared and are often refused. Chatham Island adds its own care for local ecology. In practice, order catering on the ground so nothing needs to be carried in, and let the FBO services team and ground handling services at Te One tell you how to discard inbound leftovers.

★★★★★BUSINESS JET
“Despite a late menu amendment, we wanted the 8 guests at Inia William Tuuta Memorial Airport to enjoy a selection of petits fours and sandwiches without a complicated cabin service. This experience of flight catering gave us a useful reference for managing packing arrangement on another departure. The Galley Girls kept the breakfast portions separate from the finishing elements, which gave us control over the final presentation. Keeping the desserts aside until service helped preserve the presentation while we dealt with the boarding tasks.”

“Rather than an elaborate service at NZCI, our 12 guests wanted vegetable tartlets and a dessert selection, organised sensibly around a revised passenger count. I appreciated the emphasis on portion planning throughout the flight catering services arrangements. The Galley Girls talked through the quantities of snack boxes with us before confirmation, rather than leaving us to guess the portions. There was enough information about the sauces to brief the crew without making assumptions about what had been ordered.”

★★★★★VIP AIRLINER
“As the person coordinating a mezze selection with flatbreads for 12 passengers at CHT, I needed an arrangement that considered different crew meal preferences. The Galley Girls understood why we wanted the snack boxes readily accessible instead of spread across several different boxes. The salads were reserved for the next stage, so the worktop stayed clear while we prepared the initial dishes. The order made airline catering feel manageable because the final order confirmation had been considered beforehand.”

Questions crews ask about Te OneAsked by crews
How much does private jet catering cost at Chatham Island?+

It depends on what the weather window lets you do. If winter conditions stack departures into a short opening, crews tend to order fuller meals, and crayfish costs more than a lamb plate. Send your passenger count and we quote the menu as ordered.

What is the lead time for private jet catering at NZCI?+

Because everything reaches the aircraft through the handling agent, the main thing is that your agent knows we are coming. Once that is set, ordering is simple, and late changes are treated as part of the job.

What about customs when catering a flight into Te One?+

Customs and MPI inspect incoming food closely, and Chatham Islands arrivals are no exception. Our meals are prepared on the ground and remain your simplest option. If you add a guest late, tell us and we resize.

Can you bring food on board at NZCI instead of ordering?+

It is possible, subject to New Zealand's food rules, but on an island with limited options a pre-ordered meal is the safer plan. Crews on a long ground wait appreciate hot food that does not need a trip into town.

Is catering part of a charter into Te One?+

Catering is not part of the charter. You order it on its own, and it is invoiced like any other item. Customs rules in this country make that arrangement simpler, since food prepared locally clears easily.
