Three of us. All ex VIP cabin crew.

We know the galley, the diet card and the 5 a.m. re-plate — because we lived them. So we built the caterer we always wished we could call.

The local tableCooked so it travels

Private jet catering with local specialities from Limón

Limón Province is the Caribbean face of Costa Rica, and the table here is not the highland table of San José. A private jet menu for Limón International leans on rice and beans cooked in coconut milk, rondón (the slow fish and root-vegetable stew of the coast), patacones, and jerk-style chicken that reflects the Afro-Caribbean kitchen of the port. Local specialities travel well when you decide how each one finishes in the galley: the stew in a sealed tray for the oven, the patacones fried and re-plated cold or crisped in the oven, the coconut rice kept moist under its lid.

For an inflight menu out of Limón, fruit is the easy win: pineapple, papaya, mango and banana, cut for service and kept chilled. Private jet food from the province also means fresh Caribbean fish, grilled or cured as ceviche, and plantain served sweet or salted. We build private jet platters from these, gourmet inflight meals for the main service, and private jet snacks from chips of plantain and cassava. Limón Province products that need a sauce keep it apart, so the plate you re-plate looks like it did in the kitchen.

The three founders, former VIP cabin crew, on a business jet airstair — private jet catering at Limón International Airport (MRLM)

Limón International sits at 7 feet above sea level on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica, where the air is wet and anything cold sweats in the drawer. Private jet catering for MRLM is packed for that humidity, with fruit cut for service and sauces kept apart. Our inflight catering team writes the menu around your galley, and the same in-flight catering rules apply here as anywhere. Aviation catering for business aviation catering trips, executive jet catering sectors and diplomatic flight catering all start with one brief, and cabin crew meals are ordered on request.

Private jet catering for business flights from Limón (MRLM)

Business jet catering at Limón International is usually a brief for four to eight passengers arriving or departing the Caribbean coast, often with a lighter galley than a long-range jet. Corporate jet catering and VIP flight catering here rely on fruit, grilled fish and rice, with a private jet chef writing a bespoke menu around the aircraft. Charter flight catering and luxury inflight catering at MRLM follow the same logic: what survives the humidity and still looks good re-plated.

State visit and VIP aviation catering at Limón International Airport

Government flight catering at Limón follows protocol: a menu cleared before anything is cooked, a small named team and traceability on every tray. Head of state flight catering and VIP aviation catering are written for discretion at a coastal field where visits are rare. State visit aircraft catering is sealed, labelled by seat and handed over at the aircraft.

Crew meal boxes and crew meals at Limón International Airport

On a Limón turnaround the crew eats on the move, so crew meals are planned around the sector. Flight crew meals are a sealed tray each; pilot meals come as two different dishes when your operator asks for different meals for pilots. Cockpit meals and crew meal boxes are ordered on request and invoiced like any other line, and crew catering stays apart from the passenger service. Cabin crew meals are packed in their own boxes, apart from the guest trays.

Ground handling and FBO catering at Limón International Airport

FBO catering at Limón International is handed over where your handling agent directs it: the general aviation terminal, the FBO door or the foot of the aircraft. Catering delivery to the FBO is coordinated with ground handling catering, so the trays reach the apron sealed and labelled. Handling agent catering is simple at a field of this size, with one apron to cross.

About the airportMRLM / LIO

About Limón International Airport: business aviation and airport catering

Limón International Airport sits at seven feet above sea level, serving the port city and the Caribbean side of Costa Rica. It is the country's second airport by traffic, with general aviation using the same field. Airport catering for business aircraft is simple here: one terminal area, one apron, one handling agent, and FBO services and ground handling services run from the same ramp.

Business aviation

LIO is a small business aviation hub for the Caribbean coast, with traffic to eco-lodges, tours and diplomatic missions. Inflight catering and in-flight catering use fresh fruit and fish. Aviation catering, business aviation catering and executive jet catering are packed for the heat, diplomatic flight catering is cleared by protocol, and cabin crew meals are ordered on request. Crew meals are invoiced like the rest, and FBO services and ground handling services decide where each tray is received.

Customs & food import

Costa Rica regulates imported plant and animal products, and customs can ask for leftover international catering to be removed on arrival. For Limón orders, local meals packed here are the safe path. Check anything imported with your handling agent before the aircraft lands, since ground handling services and FBO services will be the ones receiving the trays.

★★★★★LARGE CABIN
“Several practical details needed attention at Limón International Airport, with poached fish with steamed rice requested for 2 guests and a short ground stop to accommodate. I want an aviation catering company to understand written menu details, and this order gave us a useful starting point. With several people involved, The Galley Girls kept the fruit plates and delivery arrangements together in a concise order update. We could account for the canapés before passing the boxes to the cabin team, without a lengthy unpacking exercise.”

★★★★★LIGHT JET
“Working around a tight boarding window at MRLM, I asked for a cold lunch with cheese and fruit in portions appropriate for our 3 passengers. When comparing aviation catering companies, I would look closely at portion planning after this experience. The Galley Girls grouped the side dishes by service, which was more useful to us than simply receiving a list of dishes. The sauces were reserved for the next stage, so the worktop stayed clear while we prepared the initial dishes.”

★★★★☆LARGE CABIN
“As the person coordinating a light pasta dish with grilled vegetables for 6 passengers at LIO, I needed an arrangement that considered a changing departure schedule. We discussed the dimensions before confirming; The Galley Girls grouped the sauces into compact food boxes that were easy to handle. We placed the starters in their planned storage area without first having to reorganise all the catering boxes. My main takeaway from this flight catering order was the practical approach to crew briefing.”

Limón International: the questionsAsked by crews
How much does private jet catering cost at Limón International once customs rules are in play?+

Pineapple costs little at Limón, imported smoked salmon does not, and that gap is most of the answer to how much private jet catering costs here. Costa Rica's food-import rules limit what comes in fresh, so we lean on local products. We quote per menu, and you see each line.

What is the lead time for private jet catering at Limón International on a long leg with two services?+

If your sector from Limón has a dinner and a pre-arrival meal, say so when you order. We pack each service separately, label it, and handle last-minute changes by phone or email, day or night.

What do customs require for catering loaded at Limón International?+

Outbound catering from Limón is not the issue; incoming food is. Costa Rican authorities can ask for leftover international catering to be removed, so it is easier to order locally and finish the meals on board. We tell you what has to stay sealed.

Can you bring food on board at Limón International for a long leg with two services?+

You can bring your own food at Limón, though customs may ask about fresh produce and meat. For a two-service sector we suggest we cook the hot main and you keep any favourite items sealed. That way nothing is opened on the apron.

Is catering part of a charter flying into Limón, and what happens with customs?+

With a private jet charter to Limón, food sits outside the charter and is ordered on its own. Customs becomes part of that order only for imported items; our local menus avoid the problem.
