Private jet catering at Zayed International Airport (OMAA / AUH), Abu Dhabi

Catering to your aircraft in Abu Dhabi.

In Abu Dhabi the ramp is 40 degrees by ten in the morning from June to September, so every tray that waits outside the drawer is a problem. We cook and pack for the galley you actually have, and hand it over at the aircraft on your slot.

Three of us. All ex VIP cabin crew.

We know the galley, the diet card and the 5 a.m. re-plate — because we lived them. So we built the caterer we always wished we could call.

The local tableCooked so it travels

Regional dishes of Abu Dhabi for jet catering at AUH

A private jet menu built around Abu Dhabi starts with dates. Khalas and Sukkari travel well, sit in a small bowl beside Arabic coffee and need no oven. In summer the cabin drawer is the only place they stay at the right temperature.

The inflight menu for a long departure often pairs a cold mezze with a hot Emirati main: machboos, rice cooked with dried lime and spiced lamb or chicken, sealed in a tray with the sauce in its own pot. Gulf hammour, grilled, is the fish guests ask for most; it reheats badly packed wet, so it leaves the kitchen dry with the lemon separate.

Private jet food here also means luqaimat, small fried dough balls that go soft in a closed box, so they travel in a vented tin with the date syrup on the side. These local specialities reach the crew described as they behave in a galley: what stays crisp, what stays cold, what is portioned per seat. Sourcing across Abu Dhabi Emirate is halal by default, which saves a separate request on most orders.

The three founders, former VIP cabin crew, on a business jet airstair — private jet catering at Zayed International Airport (OMAA)

Zayed International sits on the Gulf at 88 feet, with the old Abu Dhabi code AUH still on most flight plans and a general aviation terminal that sees a steady line of Gulf-registered VVIP types and long-range charters. Private jet catering here is shaped by heat, Friday-evening departures and passengers who expect Arabic coffee before anything else. Business aviation catering, executive jet catering and diplomatic flight catering all start from the same question: what survives a 40-degree ramp.

  • Restaurant cuisine, cooked on the ground
  • Fresh and local produce
  • Labelled by seat, diet and reheat
  • Aviation-ready packaging
  • High loader for large cabins
  • HACCP certified kitchens

Business aviationOur core

VIP flight and private jet catering at Zayed International Airport (OMAA)

Most business jet catering out of OMAA starts with a long leg, to London, Mumbai, Singapore or across the Atlantic, and a cabin that wants two full services. Corporate jet catering here is a brief about timing: a light mezze to start while the cabin cools down, then a hot main that survives a four-hour reheat gap. Charter flight catering for Gulf groups often means shared platters and a larger headcount than the seat plan suggests, so we ask for the tail and the final count early. A private jet chef writes the bespoke menu around the galley type, and VIP flight catering for repeat clients keeps the same Arabic coffee and date service every sector. Luxury inflight catering for the return leg can be ordered from here at the same time.

State & royalDiscretion, protocol

Private jet catering for government and royal flights at Zayed International Airport (AUH)

Abu Dhabi regularly handles state visit aircraft catering and delegations moving between Gulf capitals. Government flight catering for these movements is cleared by protocol before anything is cooked, with a named team and no labels beyond seat numbers. Head of state flight catering follows the same line: traceable ingredients, sealed boxes, one point of contact at the handling agent. VIP aviation catering for royal and ministerial flights here leans on halal sourcing by default and on Emirati hospitality customs, which we know how to respect without making a show of them.

Special meals

Allergen free special meals and aviation catering at Zayed International Airport (OMAA)

Special meals at Abu Dhabi are a procedure written around Gulf cooking, where ghee, yogurt and fish sauce hide in dishes that look plant-based. A vegan menu here is built from local produce: stuffed vine leaves, lentil harira style soups, grilled aubergine with tahini, falafel, roasted vegetables and date-based desserts. Kosher, halal, gluten free and allergen free meals are boxed on a separate board with their own labels, and kids meals are packed apart from the main service. Tell us the restriction by seat and we write the card to match.

Crew & pilot mealsOn request

Crew meals and cockpit meals in Abu Dhabi (OMAA)

Crew meals at OMAA are on request, ordered with the trip and invoiced like the rest of it. Flight crew meals are usually eaten on a short summer turnaround, so pilot meals are packed to survive a hot ramp and be eaten one-handed: a chicken or lamb rice box, salad and fruit, labelled CREW. Crew meal boxes can also be built heavier for a long layover, with soup and a proper dessert, as cabin crew meals or general crew catering. Where the operator wants different meals for pilots, captain and first officer each get their own dish. Cockpit meals stay sealed until the seatbelt sign is off.

DeliveryEvery FBO

Airport catering delivered to the FBO at Zayed International Airport (OMAA)

FBO catering at Zayed International is delivered to the general aviation terminal, where your handling agent coordinates the airside run. Catering delivery to the FBO is timed to your slot, and ground handling catering means the hot containers go up first and the cold drawers last, so the sequence at the aircraft door matches the loading plan. Handling agent catering is arranged around the departure window, which in summer is often early morning or after dark to avoid the midday heat.

High loaderLarge cabins, bizliners

Aircraft provisioning and airport catering at Zayed International Airport (OMAA)

Galley catering starts with the type. A Global or Gulfstream has a small oven and tight drawers, while a bizliner like a BBJ or ACJ has full ovens and a high loader to reach the door. Airside catering delivery here depends on door height and whether the apron truck can reach it, and aircraft provisioning for a wide-body VIP is planned the day before. Tell us the type and we pack for what is physically on board.

About the airportOMAA / AUH

About Zayed International Airport (OMAA): aviation catering and general aviation

Zayed International is the capital's main international airport, with a dedicated general aviation terminal for private movements. Airport catering here serves Gulf-based operators and visiting long-range charters alike, and general aviation traffic holds steady through the cooler months. FBO services and ground handling services are provided on the field, and Abu Dhabi works as a business aviation hub for the wider Gulf, where diplomatic flight catering and executive jet catering sit beside ordinary corporate orders.

Business aviation

The business aviation calendar peaks around the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in late autumn and through the winter conference season, when apron space and catering slots tighten. Summer brings heat and early or late departures; Friday is the quietest working day for local suppliers, so a Friday evening departure is ordered the day before.

Customs & food import

The UAE restricts the import of fresh meat, dairy and plant material without paperwork, and pork products and alcohol have their own rules on board. Food arriving from outside is cleared through customs and often held at the terminal, so ordering locally is simpler than bringing your own. Halal sourcing is the norm.

★★★★★BUSINESS JET
“Timing and organisation mattered at AUH, where our order of vegetable tartlets and a dessert selection for 10 people involved limited fridge space. The galley preparation stood out more than any sales pitch about private aviation catering. Our handling contact received the order details from The Galley Girls, including how the breakfast portions had been grouped. The cabin team could match the desserts to the request before moving on to the remaining departure tasks.”

★★★★★VIP AIRLINER
“It was the packing plan I cared about at Zayed International Airport, with 2 servings of a light pasta dish with grilled vegetables and an evening cabin service to consider. The Galley Girls used a readable packing list for the fruit plates, which helped when two colleagues checked the order together. Keeping the breakfast portions identifiable helped the colleague taking over service understand the order without another long explanation. This experience of business jet catering gave us a useful reference for managing catering handover on another departure.”

★★★★★LIGHT JET
“Choosing fresh fruit and breakfast pastries for 3 people at OMAA was straightforward; the challenge was making it work with a small galley worktop. I gave The Galley Girls our storage brief and asked for the salads to arrive in shallow trays. The desserts were easy to locate, leaving the crew free to focus on the remaining cabin preparation. Our brief for business aviation catering was met with a sensible plan for crew briefing.”

The Zayed International questionsAsked by crews
How much does private jet catering cost out of Abu Dhabi in summer?+

It moves with the weather window. A July departure means more ice, insulated carriers and an early slot, which costs more than the same menu in January. A date platter with Arabic coffee is a small line; a full hammour main for eight on a long sector is not. Send the tail, the date and the headcount and we price the actual order.

What lead time do you need for a long leg with two services?+

Ten hours before departure where possible, and a two-service menu on a long sector benefits from every one of them. Last-minute orders are handled, but we may simplify the second meal if the slot is tight.

What are the customs rules for food arriving at Abu Dhabi?+

They bite hardest when the turnaround is short, because inspected items can be held and miss the slot. Fresh meat, dairy and produce brought in from abroad can be stopped, so we source locally and deliver to the aircraft rather than rely on what arrives in the cabin.

Can you bring food you ordered here for the return leg?+

Yes. Order the return meals with the outbound and they leave in sealed, labelled containers with reheating notes, limited to what safely survives the turnaround at the other end.

Is catering part of a charter if the passenger count changes late?+

No. The charter covers the aircraft; food is a separate order with its own invoice. If the count moves late, send the new number and we adjust portions, because trays are cooked per seat rather than as one fixed batch.
